Apologies into Thin Air

We are a nation of hypocrites, deceivers and rubber necker's. We are the same country that won't protest when our President lies to us in order to send our family members to die over seas for oil. We didn't stand up and say this is wrong when they cheated in two elections in a row so the person they want is elected. But we'll fight to get a President impeached for getting oral sex in his office. We are the same country that took almost a week to get medical and food supplies to the Katrina victims that reside in our own country but was ready to send supplies to Haiti as soon as there government would let us in. As Americans, we stereotype, judge and alienate against others. So when the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident took place, though very sad and unfortunate; Chris Brown did apologize. He didn't even deny it, he took the responsibility of his actions as a man. Went to court and excepted the verdict. But to see that even after his apology, people still judged him, alienated him from events and even a scheduled Tribute for MJ (his Idol) at the 2009 BET Awards. Some people turned into rubber necker's, driving by slowly and pointing while others played the hypocrite role and pretended as if they never did anything wrong in there lives. I'm in no way trying to condone or make excuses for Chris Brown; I'm just wondering why is it OK for certain celebrities to attend rehab two to three times a year and still don't get clean and can't even talk honestly. Then get a huge movie role, where with the exposer, there now sending a misleading message to young people.

Fast forward to June 27, 2010 at the BET Awards. A Year after Chris Brown was scheduled to perform a tribute and was promptly denied the opportunity to honor his mentor by the powers that be. This year around the same time, a second opportunity arose. Performing some of MJ's best dance moves, he ended the tribute by attempting to sing "Man in the Mirror". Overwhelmed with emotion, Chris Brown reminded everyone that he is human and everyone makes mistakes. I think the beauty of America is that Americans get hit and bounce back stronger than ever. Chris Brown showed that he can fall and get back up with out any out stretched arms, but it was nice to see that people are now ready to extend an helping hand now.
