Nas said "if heaven was a mile away, would you fill up your tank with gas and be out the front door in a flash." Now, I'm in no way talking about the idea of heaven on earth. Heaven on earth can be what ever you want it to be. Which is why some people get trapped in something they once called heaven. What I mean is, literally if the gates of heaven was only a mile away from where you are standing right now. If you could look over your shoulder and in the distance you could see the most majestic, cultivating sight. A bright goldish, illuminating vision stands only a mile from where you are. A calming/ peaceful feeling engulfs your body the longer you look at the structure beyond the gates. Would all the atheist and holiday Christians decide that god deserves our full attention? Do you think gang members would graffiti the pearly gates? Is it possible to be killed while walking to the gates of heaven by a drive-by shooting and fall inches away from infinity? Or would we treat heaven on earth as a night club? Friday and Saturday nights would have a line going around the corner, where the disciples would be treated like rappers and angles would be go-go dancers. You would wait in heaven all night so the main performer (God), and his hype man (Jesus) would show up 30 mineuts before closing. Or would knowing that eternal salvation is only a mile away would turn every religion into 1? Would walking into heaven cure AIDS or Cancer or would you still have to die to get in.
I ask these questions because, no matter how much proof a person is shown about something, some people would still be septics; even if heaven is a mile away from where you stand. Why wait for that day to happen? I'm putting on my sneakers now, I'm going to walk a mile and see what i find. I may find heaven, i may find trouble but regardless, i have a belief and we all know what believing can get you. I'll holla at you from the other side.
