Absence of a Father

The Dictionary defines a father as a person who holds an important or distinguished position in some organization. In this day and age, I don't believe people know what a father is. I don't think men realize the importance of or the honor bestowed on them to hold the position as a "father". Men should be offended if called a baby daddy because the term suggest biological fatherhood in absence of any real parenting. The sad thing is, many men are comfortable with the term; treating it as a badge of honor. Forgetting that we (Moms & Dads) are a child's first hero and role model. So an absence of any real parenting means that a child can admire DMX but not understand how to separate the entertainer from the crackhead. So in reality, fathers play a pivotal role in the success of there child. Though mothers can successfully play both roles, no-one can teach a boy how to be a man except for a father. No-one can teach a female to appreciate a man except a father. They say mothers prepare there child for society by teaching them how they wish the world would be. Fathers prepare there child for society by teaching them how the world really is. Both fundamentals are needed for a person to succeed. So I say this, wither your a great father or lack there of, your still an inspiration to your child, in one way or another. Its up to each father to figure out if you want your child to be inspired by the person you are or inspired to NOT be like there father.
